Sunbathe & Swim
Sunbathe on our beautiful sandy beach, situated in a quiet bay on the lake. Swim the waters that deepen very gradually, with sand underfoot, making it very safe for young children.
Relax
On your sundeck, while the children amuse themselves in the playground, on the beach, or jumping on the water trampoline.
Play
Horseshoes, basketball, volleyball or badminton on the grassy recreation area along with a full size playground for the kids.
Fishing
For trout, bass and pike in Oxtongue Lake, the Oxtongue river, on the many lakes and rivers nearby
Canoe
Take one of our canoes, kayaks, rowboats or paddle boats out on the lake, and explore - perhaps up to Ragged Falls - They are included in the price!
Biking
Bike ride excursions through the scenic trails in Algonquin Park. Visit us when the maple trees turn flame red - normally towards the end of September and early October.
Golf
There are several courses to choose from within a 30 minute drive.
Hiking
Hike the beautiful trails of Algonquin Park, and photograph the dramatic fall colors, then return to the warmth of your wood burning fireplace.
Santa's Village
Treat the children to a day at this theme park - aimed at giving the younger set a super day out.

Snowmobile
We are at the hub of many miles of groomed trails, which take you to Dorset, Dwight, Huntsville, Hidden Valley, Port Sydney and beyond!

X-Country/Alpine Skiing and Skating
You can ski from your cottage door or go downhill at Hidden Valley only 18km to the west. A section of the lake is cleared for skating.
Snow Tubing
In Huntsville (10 minutes) Rock Ridge Tubing Park offers 7 tubing runs and a lift back up the hill.
Horse Drawn Sleigh & Dogsled Rides
Enjoy a single horse drawn Sleigh or cutter ride at Rosey's Trail Rides or Deerhurst Resort. Both farms are 10 minutes from Colonial Bay. Dogsled expeditions at North Ridge Ranch (15 minute drive). 1/2 hour adventures start at $35.
Christmas
Enjoy a traditional White Christmas, with picture postcard views outside, whilst you enjoy your wood burning fireplace on the inside! Enjoy a quiet walk in our crisp, clean fresh air, or walk into Ragged Falls to see its breathtaking beauty, when clad in snow and ice.
Explore
There is so much to see in the area - Algonquin Park with it new Visitors Centre and Museum, the Pioneer logging museum, its hiking and biking trails, and don't forget the famous Wolf Howl which normally takes place once a week in the summer. Whilst you are driving through, be on the lookout for Moose, Deer and Bears! In Oxtongue Lake there is the famous Ragged Falls, which you can walk to or access by boat. Take a picnic lunch to enjoy at the top of the falls! Also in Oxtongue Lake there is the Oxtongue Rapids Park. This is a short drive from the cottages, and consists of a series of rapids and rock cuts on the Oxtongue River, with a picnic area, and footbridge. In Huntsville, it is worthwhile visiting the Muskoka Pioneer Village and Train Museum, and whilst there, you should take a few pictures from the Lions Lookout. Fifteen minutes to our south is the pretty town of Dorset, with its famous Robinson's General Store and pretty riverside walk. Whilst there try climbing to the top of the Dorset Lookout Tower!
